Winter Biking

Sean Jenkins

Once the snow flies, get ready for a whole new biking experience as you glide through ancient lava flows and rugged landscapes of the Thompson Valley. Our vast trail network has spawned many legendary riders and earned us the reputation as the birthplace of freeride mountain biking—a true two-wheeled paradise.

The semi-arid climate here in Kamloops creates the perfect conditions for year-round riding. Winter biking is gaining popularity worldwide in locations that get snow each winter. Fat bikes are specially designed with oversized tires, providing stability and traction on the snowy and icy paths.

Grab your winter whip (or rent one) and head out on the Kamloops bike trails.

The trails are maintained by a small group of dedicated volunteers. While there is no fee to ride the network, donations are encouraged at the Bicycle Café to maintain this riding area.
