Snowshoeing
From mid-December to end of March, the hills in Kamloops are blanketed in snow that provides dozens of trailheads to snowshoe uplands forests and wide open spaces. Pack a thermos of hot chocolate and make a day out of it or break a snowy trail in an afternoon under bluebird skies. Snowshoe rentals are available.

Kenna Cartwright Nature Park
Explore over 40 km of trails for every experience level that offers panoramic views of the city, Kamloops Lake, and the Thompson Valley.
Peterson Creek Nature Park
Similar to the trails in Kenna Cartwright Park, the Peterson Creek trails are located in the heart of the city where you can explore plenty of singletrack trails with some climbing involved.
McConnell Lake
Enjoy a day out at McConnell Lake on the short loop around the lake or veer off onto some other trails for a different perspective. Dog-friendly and accessible to any age makes these trails a rewarding day out for anyone.
Bush Lake Area
This dog-friendly trail is easily accessible and well marked. It's perfect for a quick snowshoe and bonus it's free.
Dogwood Marshes
Located across the street from the Bush Lake Area, Dogwood Marshes is perfect for a variety of snowshoe trails. Whether you're seeking a long trek or a quick loop, there's a trail for that! This is also a free, dog-friendly area, so you can bring the whole family along.
