The Llama Sanctuary is a registered charity dedicated to the rescue, re-homing & rehabilitation of llamas and alpacas in need. Operating from its new home at Recline Ridge Ecopark in Tappen, British Columbia, The Sanctuary has grown over 20 years to become the largest dedicated camelid rescue organization in North America and currently provides round-the-clock care for 60 llamas and alpacas, including many who require special attention. Recently, The Llama Sanctuary launched CATS2, a dedicated cat re-homing lounge, providing temporary lodgings for abandoned, homeless and rescued cats and offering a comfortable place for people and cats to become acquainted before re-homing. The Llama Sanctuary is ready to respond to all manner of situations and crises, whether it be animals left alone due to accident or illness, escaped or abandoned llamas, as well as emergency evacuation and temporary care facilities for camelids and cats in need. The Llama Sanctuary is open year-round, offering fun and education through guided tours and field trips.
