ArtZone Sun Peaks is thrilled to announce the return of the CREATE! Arts and Craft Festival, set to take place from September 6 to 8 in the scenic resort town of Sun Peaks. This dynamic festival promises a weekend filled with art, music, and interactive experiences for all ages and interests.
From Friday evening through Sunday, attendees will be treated to a diverse lineup of musical performances spanning various genres. The festival will also feature the travelling Western Canadian Fibre Art Network Exhibition RESIST showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of fibre artists from the Western Provinces, Yukon and NWT.
For those eager to explore their artistic side hands-on, the festival offers a range of workshops and demonstrations. Participants can try their hand at Blacksmithing, Silk Scarf Marbling, and Flower Pounding. Live demonstrations in Dancing, Yoga, and Flower Arranging will provide further opportunities for engagement and learning.
Painting enthusiasts will have the chance to join the Plein Air Workshop, capturing the scenic beauty of Sun Peaks firsthand. Additionally, a Still Life Painting session will follow the flower arranging workshop, inviting participants to express their creativity in a tranquil setting.
Families and younger attendees are invited to visit the Imagination Station, where a variety of arts and crafts activities await. Youth aged 10 and up can participate in specialized workshops focusing on Painting and Cartooning, tailored to their budding artistic talents.
The festival’s highlight event will be a Saturday evening concert featuring acclaimed artist Jill Barber, promising la piece de resistance musical experience against the backdrop of Sun Peaks’ stunning vistas. Watch for these tickets to go on sale through Tourism Sun Peaks.
