| Sun Peaks wins bid to host Porshe Club of America's National Gathering Thursday, July 15th, 2010 |
| Porsche No. 1, a mid-engine roadster, was completed in 1948 in the Austrian town of Gmund. Over sixty years later, the Porsche Club of America will host their National Gathering in the Austrian-inspired village of Sun Peaks Resort. Sun Peaks won the bid over New Orleans, New Mexico and North Carolina to host up to 250 Porsches and over 350 attendees at this National event. Attendees will participate in a golf tournament and car tours throughout the weekend, exploring the Thompson Valley in their finely tuned vehicles. The public will have the best opportunity to view the amazing display of Porsches, from vintage to brand new, on Saturday, September 11. The cars will be lined up throughout the alpine village at Sun Peaks for the “Escape Show and Shine.” As owners buff and polish their cars, the public has the chance to pick their favourite from the crowd! The National Gathering takes place September 9-12, 2010.
