The 2009 KIBIHT has taken a different direction while still preserving the traditional values that have always been present at this prestigious event. This year's event will be co-hosted by a committee from Kamloops Minor Hockey Association and the City of Kamloops. The games will still be played on the traditional Easter Long Weekend and will host 24 of the top Bantam teams around the world. For the first time ever the KIBIHT will offer a Female Division. The Female Division will be Midget aged girls so as to give them an opportunity to showcase their skills to the many University and College team representatives that have been invited to attend.
