Riverside Park Beach close to downtown KamloopsKamloops is well known for it's wonderfully warm summers, so when the weather is glorious, there's no better place to be than the beaches! Here are some recommended beaches to check out in Kamloops:
> Riverside Park Beach
This beach is on the South Thompson River and is within easy walking distance from downtown Kamloops. There are marked swimming areas supervised by lifeguards (July 1 - August 31 from 1pm - 5pm on hot/sunny days). Outdoor kitchens are available for booking through the City of Kamloops' Parks & Recreation department by calling 250-828-3465. Additionally, there is a playground, water park, tennis, lawn bowling, concession, bandshell and historical features located close to the beach.
> Pioneer Park Beach
Located on the South Thompson River, located within walking distance of downtown Kamloops. This park and beach are dog friendly and are nice for sun bathing, picnics and beach volleyball. No lifeguards are on duty and not recommended for swimming.
Overlanders Beach near downtown Kamloops
> Overlanders Beach
Located where the South and North Thompson Rivers meet on the North Shore of Kamloops near the centre of the city. The beach is dog friendly and is nice for walking, sun bathing and picnics. No lifeguards are on duty and not recommended for swimming.
