As Canada's Tournament Capital, parks play an important role in Kamloops hosting successful tournaments and sporting events. As well, Kamloops residents and visitors enjoy the spectacular wide open spaces to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Here are some of the larger parks in Kamloops to visit.

 

Riverside Park


Riverside Park is located in the heart of downtown Kamloops. The park features a waterpark, change rooms, washroom facilities, Rotary Rose Garden, Rotary Bandshell, lawn bowling, tennis courts, Uji Gardens, sculptures (including a life size bronze bull), murals and the Rivers Trail. It's a perfect venue for a picnic, game of frisbee and is home to 'Music in the Park', a free, nightly concert featuring different styles of music (July & August). Riverside Park Map.

 

Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park is located by the Red Bridge on Lorne Street and is a great destination to enjoy the company of friends. The park features change rooms and washroom facilities, beach volleyball, picnic tables and park benches and a boat launch.

 

Kenna Cartwright Park

Kenna Cartwright Park was named after former mayor Kenna Cartwright and is a beautiful park to enjoy a hike or mountain bike advanture. McArthur Island Park

This unsurpassed recreational facility boasts over 120 acres of sport and park facilities, including playing fields, a golf course, indoor sports centre, bike/rollerblading paths, BMX track, tennis courts, walking trails and a skateboard park for all levels of riders. Mc Arthur Island Park Map.
