Thompson Rivers | the North and South Thompson Rivers meet in Kamloops and both rivers have enough room to provide space for boaters and those on personal watercraft. Boat launches to access the rivers are located at McArthur Island Park, the Yacht Club on River Street, Pioneer Park and Thompson Drive in Valleyview.

Kamloops Lake | this lake is a perennial favourite for motorized boats and man or wind powered watercraft. A boat launch is located at Savona Park and at Steelhead Provincial Park. There's also a marina located at Tobiano that has gas and a convenience store and is accessible only by water.

Shuswap Lakes | miles and miles of sandy beaches make the Little Shuswap Lake and the Big Shuswap Lake popular choices for boaters and those seeking summer fun from all over the world. Boat launches are available at Captain’s Village Marina at Scotch Creek, Little River Boatworld, Mara Provincial Park, Shuswap Lake Provincial Park , Herald Provincial Park , Sorrento and Salmon Arm. Please note: While boating in the Shuswap, watch for buoys that may indicate divers in area, safe anchorage, or a swimming area where boats are not permitted.
North & East Barriere Lakes | located in the stunning North Thompson Valley lies the North and East Barriere Lakes which are ideal for boating and fishing. Boat launches are available at Forest Recreation Sites.
Boat Launches at Provincial Parks in Kamloops and Area
Lac Le Jeune Provincial Park | Nestled among lodgepole pine, spruce and fir, Lac Le Jeune Park appeals to anglers seeking an easily-accessible getaway spot. The park offers a diverse assortment of recreational activities including swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, biking, and nature appreciation. The park sees high use during the summer season. During the winter the area is used for cross-country skiing but vehicle access to the park depends on snow levels.
McConnell Lake Provincial Park | Popular with fishermen -- the lake is noted for rainbow trout to exceed 1.5 kg. In order to access this lake, vehicles require high clearance.
Niskonlith Lake Provincial Park | Niskonlith Lake is popular for swimming, fishing and boating. There are limited facilities.
Paul Lake Provincial Park | Easy access, beautiful scenery, plentiful fishing and a diversity of outdoor recreational activities make Paul Lake a popular destination.
Roche Lake Provincial Park | Seven world-class stocked rainbow trout lakes, only two of which are served by maintained gravel roads, on the Thompson Plateau. Small. This is a year-round recreation area, noted for hunting, wildlife viewing, fishing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling.
Tunkwa Provincial Park | Tunkwa Provincial Park contains two large, man-made trout-fishing lakes, Tunkwa and Leighton. Tunkwa is listed in the top 10 provincial rainbow trout fisheries. This park protects mid elevation grasslands, forests, lakes, and wetlands including bogs and ponds. This is a year-round recreation area, noted for hunting, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, fishing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling.
Walloper Lake Provincial Park | Just off the Coquihalla Highway, this small lake is surrounded by an open lodgepole pine forest. The park offers opportunities for fishing and picnicking day-use only. There is a picnic table and pit toilets. A fishing wharf is provided.
