Remote Control Race Track in Kamloops

Remote Control Race Track in Kamloops

The Thompson Valley R/C Race Club is a non-profit organization which races various scales of radio controlled cars and trucks. The club is based out of Kamloops and meets roughly every second Sunday to race throughout the course of the year.

The racing program is divided up into two distinctive race seasons. Races are held inside at the Calvary Community Church Gymnasium on “indoor/outdoor” style carpet, from October to March and from April to September, move outdoors to a facility located behind the Valleyview Arena. There you will find one of the finest asphalt tracks in Western Canada where Touring Cars are raced on a 6,000 sq/ft road coarse. Right next to this track is the off-road track that offers jumps, bumps, whoops and table tops and provides great excitement for the many who race there.

Besides the regular club races, larger events include the yearly leg of the “Canadian Off Road Championship Series” race, the annual “Fall Classic” (On-Road Touring Car Race) and the ever-popular “Mid-Winter Challenge” (Indoor Carpet Race).

The radio controlled vehicles most commonly run are of the 1/8th and 1/10th scale variety but new racers can bring whatever radio controlled vehicle they have and the club will try and fit racers into a class to best suit.
