The tour provides visitors with a general overview of the entire operation from blasting the rocks to reclaiming the land. Running approximately two hours long, the tour includes:
· An informative movie
· Scenic views of the pits
· An extensive tour of the mill
· A tranquil drive through the reclaimed lands
Open Pits
» Please be advised this is a high altitude industrial environment, therefore:
· No open-toed footwear is permitted
· No dresses are to be worn (pants are recommended)
· Children under 12 years of age are not permitted at the mill
Open House and Tours at Highland Valley Copper Mine
AUGUST 4th, 2008
Highland Valley Copper Mine will be hosting an "Open House" for the public on August 4th, 2008. Complimentary hot dogs, refreshments, ice cream and popcorn will be served throughout the day, 8:30am-3:30pm. This is an exciting opportunity for everyone as extensive tours will be held around the mine and picture opportunities will be abundant. In addition to the tours, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy including magic and science shows, various static displays, rescue demonstrations, face painting and more! See you there!
