Fly Fishing in Kamloops, British Columbia

Fishing in Kamloops

Kamloops is central to over 100+ fishing lakes within a 1-hour drive through diverse and scenic landscape. Many fish-filled lakes, rivers and streams are tucked into the beautiful landscape of mountains, valleys, forests and grasslands. For the adventurous, these remote areas are accessible by hiking, ATVs, 4X4, floatplane, or through the network of forestry roads.

The fishing venues are truly satisfying fishing at leisure in a float tube, pontoon boat or car-top boat in the small lakes, or take out the canoe, kayak, or jet boat and explore the larger rivers in the region. Make the catch of the day using just a worm and hook, or test fishing skills and techniques through trolling, spin casting or fly-fishing.

Kamloops Rainbow Trout ~ The Famous Fish

The Kamloops trout is admired around the world by anglers who appreciate the physical attributes that make it such a sought-after sport fish. This fish will surely keep anglers busy as it can sprint as fast as a racehorse, empty a fishing reel of line in seconds, and jump more than three times its length straight up in the air!
