MEETING DESTINATION

Efficient and effective team building course

Vibrant! Alive! Welcoming! There are just some of the words used to describe the Tournament Capital of Canada. Kamloops is geographically the second largest city in the B.C. Interior and has all the amenities you'd expect in a year round recreational playground for the outdoor enthusiast. The City of Kamloops is a thriving cosmopolitan community where shopping, entertainment, artistic expression and sporting challenge are found in full measure.

Team building teaching your employees to think "outside the box" is very important in todays working world. On your next retreat, bring a whole new dimension to your team and incorporate the Challenge Ropes Course headed by Pacific Adventure Learning!

Kamloops is one of B.C.'s top adventure destinations, home to the Rocky Mountaineer Railtours, excellent terrain and facilities for hiking, mountain biking, golfing, kayaking, fishing, wildlife viewing, skiing, snowmobiling, and more. With a variety of accommodation, your stay will be comfortable and enjoyable... so come an explore our World of Adventure!

In the language of the First Nations, T’kemlups means “Meeting of the Waters,” where the North and South Thompson Rivers converge. Two hundred years ago it was the hub of fur trading activities and the gold rush.

Today, Kamloops is still an important meeting place. People come from all over the world to enjoy the wealth of recreational activities and friendly people.

Fresh air and a little fun is good for brainstorming

Saddle up your horses and enjoy a city with a rich tradition of western heritage and culture – we’re only a few years away from celebrating our 200th birthday. Unravel the area’s history at the Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park and at the Kamloops Museum and Archives, then hop aboard the beautifully restored steam locomotive 2141, ‘Spirit of Kamloops’, that will whisk you back to the golden era of steam power. This year explore the brand new Discovery Centre opening at the BC Wildlife Park along with the new Amphitheatre, the venue for the BC Falconry Festival featuring daily demonstrations throughout the summer.

Get a taste of culture during your next stay in Kamloops too. Our flavour on the cultural scene will have you humming along with the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, laughing out loud at live Western Canada Threatre performances, dancing barefoot on the grass to performances of various genres at Music in the Park (summer season), and marveling at turn of the century art work at the Kamloops Art Gallery.

Wear off tensions of the day with a perfect round of golf

With over 2,000 hours of sunshine each year, and very little rainfall, Kamloops is B.C.’s second sunniest city. Beautiful gardens made Kamloops a winner of the national 2004 Communities in Bloom competition. Ideal for golf, there are 10 full length golf courses, and an additional six courses to choose from in the region. Perfect for fishing, hiking and mountain biking too, with over 100 lakes nearby, along with countless streams, rivers and scenic mountain trails.

In winter, the dry powder makes for excellent skiing and snowboarding at nearby Sun Peaks Resort, Canada’s third largest ski resort. There are groomed trails and wide open spaces for snowmobiliers, outdoor skating ponds, and tobogganing hills. You can go snowshoeing, ice fishing, sleigh riding or snowmobiling in our snow-filled wonderland region.
