Located on the north bank of the Thompson River, McArthur Island Park is a must-visit for the active tourist. Golf, soccer, football, baseball, cricket, and tennis games all are played at the park as well, people rollerblade, Nordic walk, power walk and jog around the perimeter of the park on a paved trail.

McArthur Island Park Facilities
McArthur Island Sports Centre is home to many Kamloops sports and recreation facilities. The 51 hectare (126 ac.) island is lavishly equipped with a variety of playing fields, a golf course, an indoor sports centre, bicycle paths, parks and picnic land, a lagoon, a wild flora and fauna reserve, a BMX track, tennis courts and walking trails. .

>BMX Track
McArthur Island is currently home to the American Bicycling Association ABA certified BMX track featuring training sessions and racing. Racing takes place starting March 14th and finishes October 31 (weather dependant.) For more info click here

>Paved Perimeter Walkway
Walking, jogging and rollerblading can all be done on a 3.1 km paved perimeter walkway around the park. A large portion of the walkway passes by unique and natural riparian areas. The deck along the south side provides a relaxing rest spot and a place to observe many different birds.
>Sports Fields
Kamloops Skate Park
The number of ball diamonds and soccer pitches make McArthur Island Park an ideal tournament centre. There are nine ball diamonds used by slo-pitch and minor baseball leagues, and two major baseball fields: Norbrock Stadium and Canada Games Ball Field.
>Kamloops Skate Park
The Kamloops Skate Park is a 2,000 square metre park with some cool features. Four-foot quarterpipes line the upper decks for maximum speed and flow, while a ton of obstacles keep skaters alert and on their toes.
>McArthur Island Sports and Events Centre
This newly updated area has a 1,200 seat N & L arena and an 800 seat Olympic ise sheet as well as a curling rink. Next door to the Sports and Events Centre is the Youth Centre which is home of the Boys and Girls club.

>Lawn Bowling
The McArthur Island Lawn Bowling Club has been located on McArthur Island for over 15 years and provides both social and recreational activities for many bowlers of all ages.
Norbrock Stadium in Kamloops
>NorBrock Stadium
NorBrock was built as a 1967 Canada Centennial project and seats approximately 1,000 spectators. It comes alive every July during the Kamloops International Ball Tournament, which hosts both Canadian and U.S. teams.
>Canada Games Ball Field
The Canada Games Ball Field is a legacy from 1993 when Kamloops hosted the Canada Summer Games. Approximately 4,500 youth soccer players take advantage of McArthur Island’s six pitches. In addition, men’s, women’s and seniors’ leagues make the "island" their home.
>McArthur Island Golf Course
McArthur Island Golf Course is an executive 9-hole golf course with driving range and miniature golf course.
